The Association for Development and Education of Youth “Safe Step” together with its members continues to mark important dates in the year, especially those related to human rights.

This year, members of UREM “Safe Step” marked the International Women’s Day – 8th of March in the city square in Bijeljina by distributing flowers to citizens and displaying messages emphasizing the importance of respecting women’s rights and the need for women to be visible 365 days a year. The messages greatly attracted the attention of passers-by, and the activity was also promoted in the media.

International Roma Day – 8th of April was marked this year in our association. This year, members, together with users and volunteers of the association, wrote messages about the rights and problems of Roma men and women, and then took a street walk to present those messages and draw the attention of residents.

In addition to celebrating important dates, our staff and volunteers organized an action to clean the local community “Vuk Karadzic” in Tombak, which includes the association “Safe Step”, and thus contributed to the ecology and the better image of the city of Bijeljina. We appeal to all young people to take care of the environment, because this city and this country remain on us, let’s protect it.
